Since starting this blog, my love for beauty and skin care related products has continued to grow. I enjoy using make-up a lot more and I regularly – as observed and confirmed by my close friends – treat myself to the wonderful smells of body creams, shower gels and scrubs. However my relationship to facial products has always been a difficult one. I shy away from switching up my routine and until a while ago I used as little products as possible. To give you an idea about my skin, it’s acne prone with a very oily T zone, dry cheeks, a serious lack of hydration and it get’s irritated very easily. Even just wiping it with a washing cloth get’s it all red and angry. So, desperate not to agitate it more I used the bare minimum of water and a day cream. And it worked, for a while I had really good skin and my face looked better than ever. Until I switched my birth control this year. Oh my did I not …

It seems like my love for – minimalistic – jewellery is slowly becoming a thing on The Tawny Fox. When I went to C-mine to visit ‘Handgemarkt’ – an indoor market filled with handmade pieces – and also bumped into the labyrinth a while ago, I strolled past various stands not really being intrigued by any of them. Until some dainty silver jewellery pieces caught my eye. I could not help but share this amazing Dutch brand called Danielle Vroemen Jewellery. Pieces like these can only be designed by someone very talented and passionate, so there’s no doubt Danielle has a lot of both. Having grown up in a family of DIY’ers – so to speak – working with her hands came natural from a young age. After graduating the Academy of fine arts in Maastricht, she took the time to figure out what she wanted out of life. But soon enough her creativity got the better of her and she designed and created her first jewellery collection ‘GEOM’ in 2010. Now, five years later, she has four collections, GABARIT being the …

It’s Memebox time again! My love for Asian beauty products has not resided one bit, so I’d like to introduce you to a few more. One of my dreams is to visit Japan and South-Korea, they have an amazing culture and architectural heritage for one, but obviously the stores would be seeing a lot of me too. One more thing, you might have noticed I only publish once a week – on monday-ish – now. This will continue for the month of June because of my exams. But don’t worry, starting July, I will be alive and kicking again! This girl loves her pink so you can imagine my excitement opening this box! I got six full sized products this time, most of them make-up related. They are all from the famous Korean beauty brand Banila co. If you missed the last Memebox and want more info about it check out the previous article. First off the skin care products: CLEAN IT ZERO – This product, wow, my favorite by far! It’s a make-up remover and it …

My monday just got a whole lot better! H&M has done so pretty amazing colabs in the past but this one, this one makes me a very happy girl. The announcement for the colab between Balmain and H&M came yesterday – unexpectedly – at the Billboard Music Awards. I’m guessing they love their surprises. We don’t know much yet about the collection from our haute couture fashion house gone affordable but we all know, it’s going to be good. Check out H&M’s and Balmain’s Instagram for more sneak peeks and I will see you all on the 5th of november! Picture from H&M

I’ve been hinting I had something exciting planned for you and now the moment is finally here! I’m happy to introduce you to the gorgeous jewelry brand ST’ATOUR. I also have a surprise in store so if I got you curious, keep reading on! It all started roughly 3 years, when an idea sparked in the mind of Stephanie Wilfert. Based in Leipzig – Germany – she now runs a successful one woman business, creating unique minimalistic jewelry pieces by hand. ST’ATOUR is a combination of the first two letters of her name and the French word ‘atourner’ which means ‘to adorn oneself’, in this case with handmade statement jewelry. She draws inspiration from the pure beauty of things, clear shapes and keen contrasts. All of her jewelry pieces are the result of her passion, dedication and pride for her craft. I asked her what made her start the journey into jewelry making and she answered: “As a Designer I‘m truly in love with shapes, forms, patterns and beautiful things. Also simplicity. My personal style is full …

So, my guess is you already know which store I went to. I caved again when I entered their store in Maastricht – the sad thing is I actually didn’t go to buy stuff for myself, but I went with Lauren from Colours Of My Joy to buy some presents for her mother’s birthday. I’m a weak, weak person. However, now I can spread the joy that is Lush! Being on the lookout for a new shampoo – I switch a lot – this BIG seasaltshampoo caught my eye. Well, actually it caught my nose because to be honest, it was one of the few shampoo’s with a nice – gorgeous actually – scent to it and the one trait a shampoo HAS to have – in my opinion – is a nice fragrance. The seasalt is ment to give your hair extra volume – like the sea salt spray when making beach waves – and in combination with the coconut oil, your hair gets all the benefits without drying out! That being said, it definitely gives my …

So – finally – what found it’s way into my suitcase back from Milano? One word, MAKE-UP. Or is it two? Whatever. It was the only thing I was interested in buying and with huge amounts of self control I selected a few items I had to have. It was a bigger splurge than my usual make-up spendings, but hey, it’s Milano right? To start off, we unexpectedly walked into the first L’Oréal Paris flagship store. Imagine a store, stocked only with L’Oréal Paris products, crazy! They had everything from make-up to shampoo to sunscreen. The thing that caught my eye was the lip liner couture by color riche – in 302 bois de rose – one sophisticated lip liner packaging right there. I use it to colour in my lips completely, not as a lip liner, yet. It’s such a lovely pink shade and I’ve been using this so much it already needs sharpening. Nuf said. Next, the famous Italian make-up brand KIKO. The price is mostly comparable with drugstore items though they have some more expensive products. The …

This article is a good example of my procrastination, memebox connoisseurs might know this box was sold months ago. So long overdue, my impression of the cutiepiemarzia memebox! I’m a big fan of Marzia’s youtube channel and when she did – not one but four – collaborations with memebox I have to admit I went a little crazy. So what is memebox? Their goal is to make you acquainted with Korean beauty by making themed boxes. But the thing is, they kind scr*wed us Europeans over, because since Februari they only continued to ship to the USA. Thanks memebox. But because I fell in love with Korean beauty products and make-up, I didn’t want to deny you to pleasure of discovering them for yourself! Anyway, there are other webshops that sell these products so no harm done. I recommend checking out Best BB Creams – though it is a bit more expensive – and Cosmetic Love. Is it just me or is opening a box full of beauty products really way too exiting! This box contained six …

A few months ago, I bought this loupe pendant necklace from Mariaela’s etsy shop and I’ve been smitten with her designs ever since. Her story started in Poland, where she has been making jewelry for over ten years. All her designs are hand made with the Tiffany stained glass technique, in combination with ecologically safe tin alloy. She also immerses stones, sand, pieces of metals, flowers and plants into the glass giving all her designs a unique look. Ela about her jewelry: “My work is modern and unique, with elements of nostalgic longing for the past. It does refer to presently popular trend called ‘retro vintage’. I believe that emotions that accompany my work transfer into the product I make. And my emotions are joy, positive energy and love.” Mariaela’s jewelry consists of bracelet’s, rings, necklaces, earrings and brooches all handmade with a lot of care and precision. My personal favorites are the terrarium pendant necklaces and big statement rings – I have my eye on a big red cocktail ring – soon to be additions to my …

Don’t you just hate chapped lips? Awful. I used to have it so badly it left indentations in the top of my lipstick. And well, wearing any kind of lipstick is out of the question since you’ll look like, I actually don’t know how to describe the sight of a chapped lips and lipstick combination but, you get my drift. So, after another horrible winter of mutilated lips and no good lip balms I – FINALLY – came across a solution. All hail the lip saviors! I’m very happy to introduce to you, the Lush lip scrub – The Kiss edition from valentines day – and Blistex MedPlus lip balm. My lips have never looked better – instagram lipstick pictures popping up like nobody’s business –  you can imagine my relief of finally owning a pair of nice looking lips. The lip scrubs from Lush are all amazing but I went for The Kiss because it had the sweetness of the Bubblegum flavor, but also contained a little bit of salt to add to the taste – you …
